Folk Rock's genesis was two-fold: 60s UK bands like Fairport Convention and Pentangle melded traditional Folk songs and instruments (fiddle, mandolin, etc) with Rock & Roll sensibilities and arrangements. In America, The Byrds electrified Folk songs by Bob Dylan and Pete Seeger. Current artists include The Kennedys, The Duhks, and Richard Thompson. --woodsmeister
