Lo-Fi was part of the Indie movement of the late 80s/early 90s, though the latter's credo was even more basic. Lack of multi-tracking, single takes, and often consequently immense quantity of output were staples of the Lo-Fi movement as embodied by bands such as Guided by Voices and Sebadoh. -devonreed
